German Minister on refugees from Ukraine: the decision to return to the homeland is personal

Germany does not intend to influence Ukrainian refugees to return to their homeland. This position was expressed by German Development Minister Svenja Schulze in an interview published in RND.

Speaking to journalists, she noted that there is a shortage of qualified workers in Ukraine, while there are many Ukrainians living in Germany who live at the expense of the German state.

The minister also clarified that Germany does not intend to encourage Ukrainians to return to their homeland because of this problem.

She noted that the decision to return to their homeland is up to Ukrainian refugees who have taken refuge in Germany.

Schulze also expressed the opinion that the problem of the shortage of skilled labor in Ukraine can be solved by returning refugees from Europe who have received the necessary qualifications here.

However, she noted that the work skills acquired in Europe are not recognized in Ukraine, and it is planned to discuss this issue at the conference on the restoration of Ukraine to be held on June 11-12 in Germany.
