After the decision to redirect military personal income tax funds, UAH 51 billion was received for the development of the defense industry and more than UAH 43 billion for the production of drones, and UAH 9.6 billion will be transferred to the defense forces for the purchase of weapons, equipment and protective equipment. This was emphasized by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting.
"At every government meeting we make decisions that strengthen our defense," he noted.
Shmyhal emphasized that a record 17.5 billion hryvnias were recently allocated for the construction of fortifications and 792 million hryvnias were allocated for the urgent needs of military units.
He also reminded that last autumn a decision was made to redistribute military personal income tax paid by the military from community budgets to a special fund of the state budget.
"Thus, for this year we received an additional resource - plus UAH 51 billion for the development of the defense industry and more than UAH 43 billion for the production of drones," Shmyhal informed.
At the same time, it was decided that 10% of the military personal income tax would be sent directly to military units.
"Therefore, today we are transferring UAH 9.6 billion of military personal income tax to the defense forces for the purchase of weapons, equipment, ammunition, and protective equipment," the Prime Minister emphasized.
