Zelensky's New Year's address: We must live by the rule - either you work or you fight

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has published a New Year's video address. It lasts more than 20 minutes.

In his address, the country's leader called the main achievement of the year that Ukraine has become stronger.

The video refers to the president's address to fellow citizens on the first day of the full-scale war.

According to Zelensky, many did not believe that Ukraine would last even a week, but now the country is looking forward to 2024.

Zelensky thanked all the Ukrainians who put their lives on hold, put everything on hold for later, for "after the victory," and also all those who say: "I work, and this is not a feat, but a duty. I donate, and this is not a feat, but a norm." And also to those who know that wars do not end by themselves, but are ended, and victory is not given, but gained.

"And for this purpose, today we have to live by the rule: either you work or you fight. Because the world's largest terrorist organization is against us. And it is obvious how much more we should do, how much more active we should be, how much stronger our unity and struggle should be," the President emphasized.

The Head of State emphasized that everyone who lives by the formula "I have to do more than I can" and does not ask himself what he can do every day knows this.

In his greetings, the President thanked the people of Ukraine of various professions. In addition, he mentioned that Ukraine has become a country that is expected in the European Union.

"This confirms the decision to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. A decision that others have been making for decades. A decision that was once hard to believe in, about which skeptics said: "It's not soon, it's not tomorrow, it's almost impossible. Don't hope, don't believe, don't wait." But the Ukraine of 2023 is purposeful, tough, consistent, decisive and stubborn," Zelensky said.
