The EU Council of Ministers may formally approve a new 12th package of sanctions against Russia on Friday. This was reported by the Austrian news agency ARA.
"EU heads of state and government have approved the 12th package of sanctions against Russia. This follows from the conclusions of the EU summit on Ukraine, which were published on Thursday evening. However, according to the Council spokesperson, the package itself has yet to be formally approved by the Council of Ministers of the member states - this may happen on Friday," the statement said.
It is noted that Austria nevertheless withdrew its "verification reservation" and agreed with the conclusions of the EU summit.
