The United States of America has agreed with Turkey on a new system for enforcing sanctions against Russia. Now, Turkish companies will not be immediately punished for violating sanctions and trading with Russia, Hürriyet reports.
Previously, Washington imposed sanctions immediately, but now it will first notify Ankara and request the necessary information.
Turkey will conduct its own investigation and report the results to the United States. And only then "if necessary, measures will be taken."
It should be noted that this makes it much more difficult to impose sanctions on Turkish companies doing business with Russia.
