Members of the European Parliament call on the European Council to start negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU during the summit to be held on December 14-15. This is stated in a resolution of the European Parliament.
Among other things, subject to certain reform steps, MEPs call for the start of negotiations on EU integration with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Georgia should be granted candidate status of a candidate for accession.
"MEPs welcome the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and call on EU leaders to also immediately adopt a framework for negotiations as soon as the relevant requirements related to each of the candidate countries are met, with a view to launching accession negotiations as soon as possible," the resolution says.
