In addition to the Sandown ships, the "maritime coalition" of Britain and Norway will provide Ukraine with 20 Viking amphibious ships and 23 speedboats. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Twitter.
"Britain and Norway have led a new coalition of Ukraine's maritime capabilities. The coalition will propose a plan for the development of the Ukrainian Navy," the statement said.
Thus, Ukraine will receive:
- 2 Sandown mine-clearing ships (minesweepers);
- 20 Viking armored amphibious vehicles;
- 23 speedboats.
According to the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, the ceremony to unveil the coalition will take place today in London. Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gramm will also arrive.
The UK (@DefenceHQ) and Norway (@Forsvarsdep) will co-lead a new Maritime Capability Coalition. The Coalition will offer a blueprint for the development of Navy.
