The first group of Ukrainian citizens has been evacuated from the Gaza Strip. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Twitter.
"Ukraine has successfully evacuated the first group of 43 Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip. They are now safe in Egypt, where Ukrainian diplomats are providing them with the necessary assistance," the head of state said.
According to the President, Ukraine also helped evacuate 36 citizens of Moldova.
"We are happy to help our friendly neighbor," Zelensky said.
It is reported that the evacuation is ongoing. Ukraine's embassies in Israel and Egypt are making every effort to get more Ukrainians out of Gaza.
