Strike of Polish carriers: they want to close all checkpoints on the border with Ukraine

On the morning of November 3, Polish carriers plan to go on strike at the Ukrainian border. The action is planned for two months. This is reported by the Ukrautoprom Association with reference to the International Transport Association of Ukraine.

The first meeting of the participants has already been agreed with local authorities near the Korchova checkpoint for 10 a.m. on November 3.

"If earlier they were limited to one checkpoint, now they plan to block all available entrances from Ukraine," the statement said.

The reason for the strikes is excessive competition after the liberalization of international transportation between Ukraine and the EU.

In particular, Polish carriers demand the return of permits to Ukrainian carrier; the ECMT rules for foreign carriers be tightened; a separate queue in the "Yecherha" be set up for cars with EU license plates; a separate queue at all borders for empty trucks, as well as access to the "Shlyakh" system be granted.
