There is a possible threat of war in Europe amid the escalation in the Middle East and Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on the ZDF TV channel.
Pistorius believes that the conflict in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine should have consequences in German society.
"We have to get used to the idea that there may be a threat of war in Europe," the minister said.
According to him, Germany must be able to defend itself, this applies to both the Bundeswehr and society.
"We have to become war-ready," Pistorius said.
At the same time, he added that Germany will do everything in the Middle East conflict to prevent further escalation.
