Mobilization will be intensified in Ukraine, - member of the National Security Committee

Mobilization will be intensified in Ukraine. This was stated by Serhiy Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, in an interview with UP.

"Now additional resources will be needed due to the loss of personnel and the need to form new units and brigades," Rakhmanin said.

He clarified that the law of Ukraine passed by the Rada on lowering the conscription age has not yet been signed by the president.

"Until recently, citizens under the age of 28 who had not served in the Armed Forces could not be mobilized. The military insisted that they needed this mobilization resource and asked us to lower the bar. We lowered it," he said.

To the journalist's question "Why hasn't the president signed this law yet?", Rakhmanin replied: "I don't know exactly why he hasn't done so. But there may be some logic. Firstly, lowering the conscription age is a rather sensitive thing, perhaps the president is taking into account public sentiment, and there are families where people are very worried about their children not being drafted into the army or to the front. The second point is pragmatic. There are rough calculations: for one person to fight, 10 people have to work in the rear. Unfortunately, we have a rather serious shortage of qualified personnel. And the third point is that our demographic situation was sad even before the full-scale invasion, and now it is not improving, to put it mildly, because of migration and war. Accordingly, in order to have a demographic resource in addition to the mobilization resource, so that the population does not decline sharply, we must also pay attention to this. I don't know what exactly the president is guided by by not signing this law."
