Stoltenberg sets deadline for Sweden to join NATO - Bloomberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has sent a letter to all member states of the North Atlantic Alliance, setting a "deadline" for Sweden's accession to the organization. This was reported by Bloomberg.

It is noted that such a letter was sent out about a week ago.

In the letter, Stoltenberg states that Sweden should become a NATO member "no later than" the meeting of NATO foreign ministers scheduled for November 28-29.

It should be noted that the NATO Secretary General is going to meet with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm on Tuesday.

Swedish Minister for European Union Affairs Jessica Rosvall expressed hope for a quick solution of the NATO accession issue and plans to hold talks with her Hungarian counterpart.

"We also look forward to a quick decision from Hungary and want to become members as soon as possible," she said in Luxembourg.
