Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny are among the candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize. Despite their nomination, experts believe that the chances of both nominees winning are low. This was reported by Sky News.
According to the report, Volodymyr Zelensky and Alexei Navalny are considered favorites among 351 candidates. However, many experts believe that their chances of winning the prize are limited, especially given the current situation related to armed conflicts and the Nobel Committee's avoidance of Russia last year.
The list of other nominees is currently under wraps, but several notable names are known, including environmentalist Greta Thunberg, Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Murza, and Chinese protester Peng Lifa.
The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will receive not only a medal and a diploma, but also a cash prize of 11 million Swedish kronor (approximately 101.4 thousand US dollars).
The prize will be announced next Friday, and the award ceremony is scheduled for December 10 in Oslo.
