President of Ukraine demands to open the register of officials' declarations to the public

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky used his right of veto on the draft law which maintained restrictions on the electronic declaration of incomes of officials and deputies. He announced his decision in a video message posted on Telegram.


The President insists on open access to the register of declarations for the general public.


"Veto. In the morning, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a law that preserved restrictions on electronic declaration. Restrictions are unacceptable. Declarations must be open," the President said.


The President emphasized the importance of immediate opening of the register of declarations and called for the law to be adopted quickly with the appropriate amendments.
