The German federal government instructed Rheinmetall to supply 40 more Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. This order was placed in August 2023 and is valued at tens of millions of euros.
Rheinmetall noted: "Rheinmetall's work on the existing vehicles is in full swing so that the new Marder batch can be delivered in accordance with the 2023 contract."
This order brings the total number of Marder machines supplied by Rheinmetall to Ukraine to 80.
Earlier, in March 2023, Rheinmetall fulfilled an order from the federal government and produced the first 20 armored personnel carriers for Ukraine. Another 20 armored personnel carriers were commissioned in June 2023 and recently delivered to Ukraine.
