The news of Germany's transfer of a new military aid package to Ukraine was published the day before. This package includes 10 Leopard 1 A5 tanks, a field hospital, more than 13 million rounds of small arms ammunition, TRML-4D radar, four heavy military trucks, and 16 Vector reconnaissance drones.
Julian Röpke, a military analyst at BILD, expresses the opinion that this amount of equipment is not enough to break through Russia's defenses.
He is convinced that a better option for Berlin would be to supply Kyiv with Taurus cruise missiles.
"Olaf Scholz prefers to supply Ukraine with ten more tanks of the old model instead of a few cruise missiles, which have a greater potential. We know that recently even modern tanks have not been able to effectively counter Russian defense, and cruise missiles have changed the tactics of warfare. So I'm thinking: is this either cynicism or a cold calculation to prevent Ukraine from being able to withdraw Russia from its territory?" - Röpke noted.
