Danilov urged Lars von Trier to feel the reality of Ukrainians

National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov responded to Danish director Lars von Trier, who said on his social media that "Russian lives are important too." Danilov advised Trier to imagine himself in the place of Ukrainians who are dying from Russian attacks and to imagine that his loved ones are dying.

"War is not a movie where actors play life and death. Behind every living Russian terrorist is a dead Ukrainian. The choice between the executioner and the victim becomes a tragedy when the artist chooses the side of the executioner," Danilov noted.

He emphasized that Ukraine lives in a reality where Russians are murderers.

"A simple piece of advice for a famous director: imagine that it is a Russian missile that flies into his city every day, that his father or mother was killed, his grandson was taken to Russia, and a Russian looter raped his wife and burned down his house. In this case, the abstraction of hypocritical "humanism" takes on completely different features - real, not fictional life," Danilov added.

Earlier, Lars von Trier expressed dissatisfaction with Denmark's transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and called for respect for Russian lives in his address to the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, as well as the Danish Prime Minister.
