The German government provided an additional batch of Leopard 1 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As DW reports, this information was confirmed by the country's Ministry of Defense. The tanks were repaired and modernized after recent purchases in Belgium.
According to the statement of the German Ministry of Defense, Ukraine received 25 Leopard 1 tanks, as well as five armored repair and evacuation vehicles and two training tanks.
As we reported earlier, the first Leopard 1 tanks were sent to Ukraine on the morning of August 7. The buyer, who prefers to remain anonymous, purchased these tanks in Belgium.
