A UNESCO mission arrived in Odesa after the rocket attacks

The UNESCO mission arrived in Odesa on Saturday, July 29. Experts will assess the damage caused to the city by Russian attacks.

 Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa RMA, reported this in Telegram.

 Today, the local authorities held a meeting with UNESCO representatives. Experts will work in Odessa for four days. They will capture and document the consequences of Russian terrorist attacks.

 "They arrived in Odesa with a mission to carry out a comprehensive assessment of the damage to cultural and religious objects caused by missile strikes carried out by Russia from July 19 to 23," the message reads.

 After withdrawing from the "grain agreement", the Russian Federation began shelling Ukrainian ports. Odesa, in particular, the historic center of the city, was also attacked by the enemy.

 The most massive strike took place on the night of July 23. Then the occupiers fired 19 missiles of various types, of which only 9 were shot down.

 Russian rockets hit the historic center of the city. More than 20 historical monuments were damaged, including the partially destroyed Savior and Transfiguration Cathedral.
