As part of the exchange of prisoners with Russia, Ukraine was able to return home more than 40 of our soldiers. It is about defenders of Mariupol and fighters from the Bakhmut direction.
This was reported by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.
"Today we also have good news. We managed to return home from captivity 45 of our soldiers of the Armed Forces, National Guard, DPSU and two civilians," Yermak said.
According to him, among the dismissed are two officers, 41 privates and sergeants, a civilian employee of "Azovstal" and a Teroboronivite from Kherson.
"We are returning the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal. There are wounded soldiers. There are also soldiers from the Donetsk, including Bakhmut, Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv directions," added the head of the OP.
Exchange of prisoners with Russia
The only negotiations that Ukraine is conducting with Russia concern the exchange of prisoners.
In April, the head of the GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the parties are discussing the possibility of an "all-for-all" exchange of prisoners, and are already approaching a positive result.
Meanwhile, the Coordination Headquarters believes that the possibility of "all-for-all" exchange has increased significantly compared to what it was three months ago.
It should be noted that the last exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and the Russian Federation took place on May 6, when 45 soldiers of the "Azov" regiment returned home.
