On June 27, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, dismissed Yury Gusev from the position of General Director of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom".
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the decree of the President of Ukraine.
By Decree No. 357/2023, Zelenskyi dismissed Gusev from his post.
It is noted that this happened according to the submitted application.
Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industry of Ukraine, said that continuous and stable work of the country's largest defense industry is critically important for our army.
"Ukroboronprom is waiting for radical changes and significant strengthening," the minister wrote.
Yurii Gusev - worked in various state authorities, in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, was the head of the Kherson regional state administration. He became the director of Ukroboronprom in December 2020.
Reform of "Ukroboronprom"
In March, the Cabinet of Ministers began reforming Ukroboronprom to improve the efficiency of Ukraine's defense industry.
In May, it became known that the State Concern "Ukroboronprom" will be turned into a joint-stock company, which will be fully owned by the state.
It is noted that the concern will be replaced by a modern high-tech defense company that will centrally manage the industry's leading enterprises in the areas of armored vehicles, aircraft construction and aircraft repair, marine and radar systems, high-precision weapons and ammunition.
