The number of people killed as a result of the Russian strike in Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region has increased to six, and five more people may be under the rubble, the head of the MBA Oleksandr Vilkul said on Radio Svoboda.
"Unfortunately, six people have died so far. 25 wounded, ten of them seriously and three extremely seriously. The rescue operation continues, we are sorting out the debris. Probably five more people are under the rubble from what we understand now," Vilkul said.
"The localization of the fires has already ended, but we need to dismantle the debris, which we are doing now. We resettle people, provide the necessary assistance," Vilkul added. He noted that there are no military facilities near the site of the strike.
Earlier, the official reported that six rockets were fired into the city during the night, five were hit, including an apartment building and a warehouse with products.
Vilkul also announced the opening of a headquarters for people who need resettlement and other assistance after losing their homes.
Meanwhile, the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Ukraine "South" Nataliya Humenyuk said on the air of a nationwide telethon on June 13 that the Russian invaders are trying to find directions for logistics that support the defense forces, but rockets hit residential buildings.
According to her, the night in the south of Ukraine was "quite tense and difficult".
"There was air defense work, and, unfortunately, there was a hit. Hitting in Kryvyi Rih. Hitting a residential building is another manifestation of terrorism. Several civilian and industrial facilities were also destroyed, including the rescue station. This all indicates that , that the enemy is in hysterics, trying to attack various regions of Ukraine, including towards the capital and towards regions that it considers strategic to support the defense forces in their offensive actions. It is clear that the Russians are looking for logistics that help the front, but, on unfortunately, they get into residential buildings," she said.
It should be noted that the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that since the beginning of the day on June 13, the Ukrainian military managed to shoot down 11 of the 15 Russian cruise missiles that reached the airspace of Ukraine, as well as one of the four Shahed-136/131 drones.
