The president of Brazil wants to offer his "mediation" in the war in Ukraine at the G7 summit

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, once again declared his desire to act as a mediator in the peace talks between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. He wants to discuss this issue at the G7 summit in Japan.

 This is reported by Metropoles.

During a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, the Brazilian leader said that peace in Ukraine can be achieved through negotiations. In his opinion, Brazil will help find the "golden mean".

"Ukraine cannot actually come to terms with the occupation of its territory, it must resist. The European Union is right in its decision (to support Ukraine, - ed.), and Brazil and other countries are right in wanting to find a middle ground. I think that this possible. If I believed it was impossible, I would not have undertaken it," said Lula da Silva.

He stated that he had already discussed the settlement of the "Ukrainian conflict" with the leaders of China, Great Britain and the Netherlands. Also, the president of Brazil is going to raise this topic during meetings on the sidelines of the G7 summit, which will be held in Japan.

It will be recalled that earlier the president of Brazil stated that the USA allegedly "encourages" the war in Ukraine. He believes that the president of Ukraine and the Russian dictator must be "convinced" to start negotiations.

Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the Brazilian leader and invited him to Ukraine.
