It is noted that Andreyev arrived at the Mausoleum of Soviet Soldiers in Warsaw around 10 am local time to lay flowers for Victory Day on May 9. The diplomat was accompanied by several other employees and guards. The road to the ambassador's monument was blocked by a crowd chanting anti-Putin slogans. In addition, the demonstrators installed an installation of Mariupol destroyed by the Russian occupiers, as well as banners with inscriptions that Russia is a terrorist country.
Andreev could not lay a wreath in front of the monument and returned to the car, then drove off. No serious incident occurred, police officers were present at the scene.
It is reported that earlier on Tuesday, May 9, representatives of the Polish authorities appealed to the Russian ambassador in Poland to refrain from provocations.
