The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, spoke about the counteroffensive, which the Ukrainian troops are planning to launch in the near future.
He said this on the air of the program "Good Morning, Hungary" on Radio Kossuth, his words are quoted by Telex.
Orban once again repeated his thesis that in the Russian-Ukrainian war there will be only losers, not winners, and "Russia will not sit idly by and watch as it is defeated."
Regarding the expected Ukrainian offensive, Orban noted that "difficult weeks are ahead of us."
"I think this is the last major opportunity for the Ukrainians to achieve some kind of military success. If this bullet is fired, if it happens, then we will see what the real balance of power is between the opposing forces, and in such a clearer, clearer situation there will be more opportunities for diplomatic act for the sake of peace," Orbán said.
According to him, Hungary is most interested in the world, and its own interest is to have a great and successful Ukraine in its neighborhood.
It will be recalled that on May 3, the Parliament of Hungary voted on Wednesday to extend the state of emergency in connection with the war in Ukraine until November 25.
The Hungarian government imposed a state of emergency in May 2022 due to the war in Ukraine. Since then, it has been extended several times, the last time was in November of last year.
