The President of Finland on support for Ukraine: I am sure that there will be a 16th aid package

The President of Finland, Sauli Niiniste, stated that Helsinki will continue to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression, and expressed confidence that the already announced aid package will be followed by the next one.

He stated this at a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Helsinki.

Niiniste said that the leaders discussed bilateral relations at a short meeting and he assured Zelenskyi that Finland will continue to support Ukraine.

"The 15th package (of military aid) is already being prepared, and I am convinced that it will be followed by the 16th," the president said.

He added that he is well acquainted with the "world formula" proposed by Kyiv and supports this idea.

"It is very important to ensure that the world is fair for Ukraine," Niiniste said.

The President of Finland added that they also talked about the global processes triggered by the war in Ukraine, and how Ukraine and Finland should cooperate in their steps on the international stage under these geopolitical circumstances.

It will be recalled that Zelenskyi's unannounced visit to Finland became known on the afternoon of May 3.

After lunch, the President of Ukraine will take part in the summit of the leaders of the Nordic countries and Ukraine, where the leaders of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland will also be present.
