The inglorious history of the "Wagner" military unit is coming to an end, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine actually destroyed the group near Bakhmut, Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces, said on the air of the national telethon.
Cherevy commented on the conflict between the head of the Wagner group Yevgeny Prigozhin and the military leadership of Russia. He noted that the Defense Forces are watching this and believe that the inglorious history of this formation is coming to an end thanks to the losses of the CHV near Bakhmut.
"We are watching Prigozhin's radio intercepts and addresses on the air. He has friction and conflict with the commander of the "operation" - Gerasimov. Prigozhin himself and his terrorists insulted the military leadership of the aggressor country, including Gerasimov. It is natural that they have some - The friction and reluctance to help him, and vice versa - Prigozhin has a desire to preserve his military-political subjectivity, to become a significant figure that influences decision-making in Russia. However, the valor and skill of the Armed Forces, which actually destroyed the "Wagner" group, prevents this. They suffered significant losses and, we can say, that the majority died on the Bakhmut fields," said Cherevy.
Regarding the situation in the Bakhmut direction, the representative of the eastern group noted that it is completely controlled by the Ukrainian command. He explained that certain tactical actions - retreats or offensives - are carried out in order to preserve our servicemen and military potential.
"And this is their boast (Russians - ed.), if they go into some small micro-district, where after that they are covered with a wild barrage of fire - this is a very conditional achievement. And if you follow the Telegram channels of their soldiers, then this has already become a trend. Not having great success, not having the main goal of the breakthrough - our defense, they constantly emphasize that they took, there is some hump or they climbed to a small height. It is necessary to look at global things, such as the fact that they cannot break through the defense and cannot achieve a result to seriously harm us," stated Cherevy.
The enemy has resorted to new technologies of disinformation in order to sow doubt and mistrust among Ukrainians in military decisions and the people who make them, said Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar, commenting on the situation around Bakhmut.
