Russia uses former "Wagners" in Kupyansk direction - Syrskyi

In the Kupyansk direction, Russians use units formed from former prisoners and ex-mercenaries of the Wagner PMC to storm Ukrainian positions. This was reported by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, the Russians continue to conduct active offensive actions in the area of responsibility of the "Khortytsia" Joint Forces Operation.

In particular, in the Kupyansk direction, units formed from former prisoners - "Storm", "Storm Z" and "Storm V" - are used to storm Ukrainian positions.

"The presence of former so-called "Wagners" is recorded, who are also involved in the assaults," said Syrskyi.

However, according to the commander, Russian troops are not making any progress in this area. Fighting continues near Ivanivka and Synkivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy is trying to storm the Serebryansky forest. They are actively using bombers, fighter aircraft and helicopters for fire support.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russians continue to try to force Ukrainian units out of their positions in Klishchiivka. The enemy has intensified the use of kamikaze drones in this area.

According to Syrskyi, the enemy has lost 8,690 personnel since the beginning of the month. In addition, 1002 pieces of military equipment were destroyed or damaged, including 109 tanks, 175 armored combat vehicles and more than two hundred artillery systems and mortars of various calibers.
