Kuleba on the importance of the defense of Bakhmut: if the Armed Forces retreat, another city will become the new Bakhmut

The Armed Forces will not retreat from Bakhmut, because then the new fortress city will become another Ukrainian city, which the invaders will relentlessly destroy.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, said that if Ukrainian defenders retreat from Bakhmut, another city of Ukraine will become the new Bakhmut.

Kuleba said this in an interview with WAZ.

"Whoever complains that the defense takes too many victims should not forget: if we retreat, the new Bakhmut will become another city. That's why our soldiers are fighting for every square centimeter of land," the minister emphasized.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is convinced that Ukrainian defenders will be able to detain Bakhmut. However, a new offensive by the Russian Federation has already begun, and the occupiers may intensify the fighting in the spring.

"But their plan will not work. According to their ideas, they should have conquered Bakhmut a long time ago," Kuleba noted.

We will remind, the representative of the intelligence Andriy Yusov said that in the east of Ukraine there is now an escalation of hostilities. The dictator of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has set new deadlines for the capture of Donbas and the entry into the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

However, analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War are convinced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will defeat Russian President Vladimir Putin's plans to capture Bakhmut by February 24, 2023, because this task will require a much higher rate of Russian advance than it has been for many months. The occupiers do not have the strength for this.
