The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission arrived in Kyiv on the eve of a planned visit to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.
This is reported by CNN.
Members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation were spotted by CNN reporters at their hotel in the capital of Ukraine on Tuesday, August 30.
The mission's visit comes amid renewed shelling of the facility and growing fears of a possible nuclear accident. The mission is headed by the head of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi.
It should be noted that the IAEA's visit to the Zaporizhzhya NPP will last four days.
According to The New York Times, all members of the team are representatives of neutral countries. Neither the USA, nor Great Britain, nor other countries that provide strong military support to Ukraine will be represented in the delegation.
Earlier, the UN urged Putin to end the war against Ukraine and demilitarize the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia has no plans to reconnect the Zaporizhzhya NPP to its grid in order to provide Crimea with electricity.
