The European Commission will allocate significant funds for clearing debris in Ukraine

The European Commission will allocate 21 million dollars for clearing debris and restoring critical infrastructure in Ukraine. This money will go to the United Nations Development Program.

This is reported by the website of the EU representation in Ukraine.

Funds will also be used to identify and eliminate urgent environmental threats and to repair, restore and/or purchase strategic infrastructure elements for affected areas.

These are transformers, heat points, water pumps, heat and water supply pipes, water disinfection systems and equipment for the supply of renewable energy.

"Rapid repair of critical infrastructure in war-torn areas is a top priority, especially as harsh winters loom. This project aims to restore electricity, water and heating facilities. These are vital services that provide residents with a decent life and comfort", - stressed acting Permanent representative of UNDP in Ukraine, Manal Fouani.
