In the Kyiv region, 1,348 bodies of civilians killed during the Russian occupation have already been discovered. About 300 people are listed as missing. This was reported by the head of the Department of the National Police in the Kyiv region Andriy Nebytov on the air of the national telethon.
"As of today, we already have the bodies of 1,348 civilians who died as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation," Nebytov said.
He noted that cases of finding civilian bodies with traces of torture are not isolated.
"One of the last mass graves - where the bodies of 7 men were found near the location of their (Russian occupants - ed.) positions, all of them were killed by shots to the head, but before that they were shot in the knees: one or even two. Some of them had their hands tied," said the head of the Kyiv region police.
Nebytov also said that about 300 people are now considered missing in action in the Kiev region. The 216 bodies found have not been identified at the moment.
"An appropriate procedure for DNA sampling has been carried out. I hope that through cooperation with relatives we will be able to identify these people. It is possible that some citizens are now in captivity. During the documentation of war crimes in the Kyiv region, we found out that many people are now held on the territory of Belarus," he said.
According to him, according to eyewitness accounts, these individuals were abducted by the occupants from Gostomel, Bucha, and Irpen.
From the first day of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the occupiers aimed to take control of the Kyiv region. At the beginning of April the enemy retreated.
