At the seized Zaporizhzhia NPP, the occupiers once again violated safety standards, exposing personnel to the risk of radiation contamination. The Rashists took away personnel passes and entered the "dirty" trestle and the radiation zone of Zaporizhzhia NPP Unit 2. This is reported by Energoatom.
"Yesterday, July 18, 2022, the Russian invaders occupying ZNPP forcibly took away passes from two employees of the plant and used them to enter the "dirty" trestle and the radiation zone of ZNPP Unit 2. Of course, safety issues did not bother them, and they violated all the established norms and procedures of passing and staying in this zone. They had neither special clothes, nor the prescribed preparatory procedures for stay in it," reads the report.
It is noted that the Rashists on their clothes could have spread radiation particles by the station and the surrounding area.
"If the occupiers were only endangering themselves (and they certainly don't feel sorry for them!) - you could say 'What an unfortunate suicide,' but on their clothes they could have spread radiation particles by the station and the adjacent territory. Moreover, no one knows what else the Rashists could have brought in and left there: weapons, explosives, and the like. This is already a direct threat to nuclear safety. For the umpteenth time!" - is noted in the message.
It is noted that Energoatom will inform the IAEA and other competent authorities about another fact of violation of nuclear and radiation safety in due order.
Russian occupants have turned the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant into a military base. Smerch and Grad MLRSs, tanks and armored personnel carriers have been deployed on the territory of the plant.
