EU foreign ministers agree on a new package of sanctions against Russia

The foreign ministers of the European Union have agreed on another package of sanctions against Russia. It will not include the gas embargo. This was announced by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó.

According to him, the new sanctions package mainly includes a clarification of existing rules and does not introduce additional restrictions on the transportation of energy resources.

"We have clearly indicated that if Gazprombank is on the sanctions list, we will not be able to support it. "Gazprombank is not part of the sanctions proposal we just received, because it does not contain any restrictions on the transportation of energy resources," Szijjártó said.

He added that the document, in particular, imposes an embargo on gold and approves additional restrictions on public procurement and acceptance of deposits.

At the same time, according to Sijjarto, the EU sanctions list will add 48 individuals and nine organizations, including Russia's deputy prime minister, several Russian officials and Sberbank.
