Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained the restriction of transit to the Kaliningrad region

Monday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania summoned Charge d'Affaires of Russia Sergei Ryabokon and explained to him the restrictions that apply to the transit of goods in the Kaliningrad region of Russia. This was stated in the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

 

"During the meeting there was disclaimed information, distributed by the Russian representatives, that Lithuania has prohibited transit to the Kaliningrad region," noted in the department.

 

They stressed that the transportation of passengers and goods, not subject to the EU sanctions, to and from the Kaliningrad region through Lithuania continues as usual.

 

"Lithuania has not imposed any unilateral, personal or additional restrictions on transit," underlined the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

 

They reminded that in accordance with the fourth package of the EU sanctions, import and transit of steel and steel products to Russia through the EU territory has been prohibited since June 17.
