Sanctions against Russia: the EU has named the amount of frozen assets of Russian oligarchs

As a result of EU sanctions, Russian oligarchs and institutions have lost access to luxury yachts, helicopters, real estate and other assets worth over €12.5 billion (about $13 billion). This was stated by the official representative of the European Commission on Justice, Christian Wiegand, reports DW.

He noted that the amount of frozen assets of the Russian oligarchs has almost doubled from €6.7 billion in April to more than €12.5 billion.

He attributed such a sharp increase in frozen assets to the fact that in recent weeks, many properties belonging to the Russian oligarchs have been discovered and blocked, especially in Germany.
