The executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council approved a ban on the use of the Russian language in schools in the city. This is reported by a member of the executive committee Katerina Stokolas.
It is noted that the decision of the executive committee applies to the institutions of general secondary education in Mykolaiv, belonging to the communal form of ownership.
According to the document, since the beginning of the new school year will be banned:
the functioning of grades 1-4 with the Russian language of instruction;
Study of the Russian language as a subject, course, elective in grades 1-11 of the institutions of general secondary education of Mykolaiv, belonging to the communal form of ownership;
the design of the educational environment in the Russian language in general secondary educational institutions of Mykolaiv, belonging to the communal form of ownership.
