Will schools be open in Ukraine on September 1?

The Ministry of Science and Education explained the conditions under which Ukrainian schools will open on 1 September.

On September 1, only those Ukrainian schools with shelters in case of shelling will open.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education Andriy Vitrenko.

"We are working on mechanisms under which on September 1 will start off-line education in schools. It all depends on the situation in the country," he said.

According to him, schools are now being audited to see if they have bomb shelters to ensure the safety of children and teachers.

"Our plan is to open schools that can be provided with bomb shelters. Such schools exist in Ukraine," Vitrenko added.
