The Ministry of Health of Ukraine is initiating early school holidays from October 18.

«On October 12, the State Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies (TEB and NA) supported the proposal of the Ministry of Health to recommend the Ministry of Education and Science to postpone the beginning of the autumn vacation in schools to October 18, 2021,» the statement said.

Viktor Lyashko emphasizes that the situation with the incidence of coronavirus disease is deteriorating, in particular, hundreds of children are diagnosed with COVID-19 every day, and thousands of students are sent to solitary confinement together with their teachers. Early start of holidays for schoolchildren will influence the spread of coronavirus disease by reducing the activity of citizens and the number of optional social contacts.

It is noted that teachers are included in the list of professions whose representatives must be vaccinated against COVID-19.

«If education workers are not vaccinated against COVID-19 by November, they will be suspended from quarantine without pay,» the statement added.
