The Cabinet proposes to disband local councillors from banned parties

The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to dissolve local councillors who were elected as representatives of the banned parties. This was reported in Telegram by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill on the consequences of judicial bans of political parties for deputies of local councils.

It is assumed that one of the grounds for early termination of powers of a deputy of a local council is the entry into force of the court decision to ban the political party, from the local organization of which the deputy was nominated and elected. At the same time, the reason for the dissolution may be membership in the parliamentary faction of the local organization of such a party.

Powers of the local council will be terminated prematurely in case of early dissolution of more than half of the deputies of the total composition. In this case, before the first session of the newly elected council, military or civil-military administrations are formed in districts, regions, territories of territorial communities where martial law is imposed.
