The Medvedchuk case went to court - Venediktova

The case of people's deputy of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk was sent to court for a hearing. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova.

"The case (of Medvedchuk - ed.) is sent to court for a hearing on the merits. The case I'm talking about now is the same one, during the investigation of which the Office of the Prosecutor General together with the SBU and the DBI found that the MP of Ukraine from 2015 to 2020 contributed to Russia in carrying out subversive activities against the interests of Ukraine and plundering the Ukrainian field," the prosecutor general stressed.

At the same time, she noted that the process of bringing the case to court was protracted due to the fact that Medvedchuk was on the run and his lawyers did not want to get acquainted with the details of the charges.

According to Venediktova, Medvedchuk has already been served a copy of the indictment and he has read the document. Prosecutors are already ready for the start of court hearings.
