"Modern" Russian cruise missiles are equipped with electronics developed in the 1960s. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Kh-101 type missiles were produced from 1999 to 2013.
"Russian media reported on them as the pride of the latest high-precision Russian weapons," the report said.
An analysis by Ukrainian experts of the guidance and navigation systems of Kh-55 cruise missiles, as well as their modifications X-555 and X-101, showed that "modern" guidance units were developed in 1960-1970 and were produced by Voronezh Plant of Radio Metals, Minsk Plant Integral and other enterprises of the Soviet Union.
Also, the "newest" rockets use the PGI-2M navigation system. It was developed in 1977.
"Most of the Kh-101 missiles fired at Ukraine never hit their intended targets," the report said.
