The Russian occupants are carrying out engineering arrangement of positions and observation posts on the sections of the border bordering Chernihiv and Sumy regions. This was reported during a briefing on Wednesday by the assistant head of the State Border Service of Ukraine - spokesman Andriy Demchenko.
"We observe that on the other side of the border in certain directions opposite Chernihiv and Sumy regions the enemy is conducting engineering arrangement of positions and observation posts. In addition, individual movements of military equipment were noted in the Russian border area," Demchenko said.
At the same time, he said that as part of the restoration of control over the state border within the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions, from where the defenders of Ukraine drove out the occupiers, the border guards went to all sections of the border.
Also, according to the representative, there is no change in the situation on the border with Belarus and on the border with Moldova in the section with Transnistria.
"At the same time, we also record Russia's armed provocations on the Ukrainian-Russian section of the border with consistent accusations of the Ukrainian side," Demchenko said.
SBSU reported that on April 15 morning and afternoon, the occupants shelled the positions of border guards in Chernihiv region.
