There will be no humanitarian corridors for evacuation today - Vereshchuk

As of today, April 18, there will be no humanitarian corridors due to the actions of the occupants. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk in Telegram.

 

"As of today, April 18, unfortunately, there will be no humanitarian corridors. (...) In violation of international humanitarian law, the Russian occupants do not stop blocking and shelling humanitarian routes. Therefore, for security reasons, it was decided not to open humanitarian corridors today," Vereshchuk reported.

 

According to the deputy prime minister, on the eve there were long and difficult negotiations on corridors from Mariupol, Berdyansk, Tokmak, Energodar. They also worked on corridors from Kherson region (Novovorontsovka, Osokorovka, Mirolyubovka, Novoznesenske, Vysokopolye). There were also talks about corridors from towns in Luhansk Oblast: Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, Rubizhne, Popasna and the village of Nizhnyaya. However, to no avail.

 

"We will make every effort to make the humanitarian corridors work again as quickly as possible," Vereshchuk stressed.

 

On April 17, no evacuation corridors were agreed either.
