The first batch of letters from the Russian occupiers of captured Ukrainian servicemen has arrived in Ukraine, the National Information Bureau of the Ministry of Reintegration is currently working on handing over prisoners of war to their relatives, the head of the Ministry of Reintegration Iryna Vereshchuk said.
"According to the Geneva Conventions, our prisoners of war have the right to send and receive letters. The National Information Bureau of the Ministry of Reintegration has started the corresponding work of organizing correspondence between our prisoners of war and their relatives. The first batch of letters arrived in Ukraine the other day. The NIB is working on their transmission to their relatives by military telegram on Friday.
She also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for "mediation and professional work".
