Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov has said that Vladimir Putin is not refusing a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, Moscow puts forward a condition for the negotiations at the highest level - agreement on the text of the final document.
This was stated by Peskov.
According to him, so far there are no changes in the preparation of the meeting between Zelensky and Putin. However, he added, there should be appropriate conditions for the negotiations. Peskov clarified that we are talking about the text of the final document.
"We can't report anything new here yet," the Kremlin spokesman said.
Dmitry Peskov also said there was no understanding about the prospects for Ukraine and Russia to continue negotiations in a face-to-face format. He added that Moscow is in favor of holding the meeting in Belarus.
"No, there is nothing yet," the Kremlin spokesman said in response to a question about the timing of new talks between Ukraine and Russia in a face-to-face format.
Peskov added that Belarus could be the preferred venue for a face-to-face meeting.
As a reminder, talks between Ukraine and Russia continue online. However, as noted by the presidential office, the dialogue is progressing very hard.
