Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a new video appeal called on the international community to provide Ukraine with heavy weapons and aviation. In particular, heavy artillery, armored vehicles, and air defense systems.
"Various experts said that Ukraine would not last more than a week if Russia invaded Ukraine. Not only did we manage to stop the Russian army-we pushed it back! But our war is far from over. This was only the first round," Zelensky said.
He stressed that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and his army are changing their strategy - strengthening their forces to push even harder on Kharkiv and the entire Donbass, including Mariupol.
The president also added that Putin will not stop in Ukraine and his next target is Europe, as Russian propagandists openly state.
"To continue heroically defending the world against Russian aggression, Ukraine needs a certain list of weapons. I call on the citizens of the world to help convey to your governments, presidential administrations and leaders of your countries the real needs of Ukraine to help stop the war," Zelensky said.
According to him. Ukraine urgently needs:
Artillery guns (155 mm caliber) and ammunition;
Artillery shells (152 mm caliber). As much as possible;
Multiple rocket launchers: Grad, Uragan or American M142 HIMARS;
APCs (armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, etc.);
Tanks (T-72, American or German equivalents);
Air defense systems (S-300, BUK or similar modern Western air defense systems);
Combat aircraft.
"We ask the whole world to unite and help us in the fight against this brutal aggression. Arm Ukraine now so that together we can defeat this evil," the president stressed.
