You immediately came to our aid - the President of Ukraine addressed the people and politicians of Finland

If Europe does not want to physically stop supplying energy resources from russia now, the first step should be to apply a scheme with the flow of money for these energy resources to russia. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking to politicians and the people of Finland.

"How long can Europe ignore the need to impose an embargo on oil supplies from russia? This is a security issue in all senses of the word, from environmental to military. And I ask you: ask this question loudly, in front of everyone in the European Union, so that the necessary solution finally appears. The world knows the formats of how to do it," Zelensky noted.

"And if Europe does not want to physically stop supplies now, it is not ready, although it is still inevitable, it is necessary as a first step to apply the scheme with the restriction of the flow of money for oil to Russia. Let this money be accumulated in special accounts without access to it by russia. Let Russia first return the peace and answer for war crimes, and then take its petrodollars and petro-euros," said the President.

According to the Head of State, every educated person knows that the time of fossil fuels has expired and mankind can no longer rely on coal and oil - it is necessary to look for cleaner sources of energy for everyone.

And if Russia also uses energy sources to finance aggression against other nations and spread hatred in the world, this should be an additional, important incentive, he said.

Zelensky also said that Ukraine needs really effective, powerful sanctions against russia, constantly, and "such a sanctions cocktail that will be remembered as Molotov cocktails."

He expressed gratitude to Finnish companies that have already stopped operating in the Russian market.

"But you have to cut off economic ties with this state completely. And I urge you to put pressure on all your companies that continue to support the Russian war machine through their taxes, excise taxes in Russia," the President said.

The head of state called for the immediate isolation of all Russian banks from the global financial system.

"We cannot be limited to a partial response to the Russian threat to Europe and the democratic world, because freedom will not survive if we leave the channels of feeding tyranny. And we need to think together about how to insulate Europe from Russian energy weapons," he added.
