Russia views hunger as its weapon - Zelensky

Russia considers hunger as its weapon in the war against Ukraine. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a speech in the Irish Parliament. He described how Russian missiles struck another fuel base last night.

"One of dozens that Russia views as a target. And it's already become the occupiers' trademark - destroying everything that provides ordinary life. They are consistently destroying fuel storage facilities, food distribution centers, destroying even ordinary agricultural equipment and mines fields," Zelensky said.

He added that Russia has blocked all seaports that were already loaded with agricultural products for export.

"They see and hunger as their weapon, a weapon against us, ordinary people. As a tool to dominate. Without our exports, it's not just a shortage, but a threat of starvation for more than a dozen countries in Africa and Asia. Because there won't be physically enough production and prices will rise substantially. For millions of poor people in northern Africa and parts of Asia, it will become even more difficult to feed their families," he summarized.
