There are no more settlements seized by the Russians in the Sumy Region, but individual groups of enemy troops still remain in the region and are being mopped up. On the Russian side of the border, there are still accumulations of Russian equipment and forces. This was stated by the head of the Sumy OVA Dmitry Zhivitsky on the air of a single information marathon of a number of TV channels, reports UNN.

"At the moment there are no occupied settlements, the Russians have withdrawn the main part of their equipment, armored vehicles, artillery outside the Sumy region on the territory of the Russian Federation. But there are still single units, small groups of Russian military - now they are being fished out, finished off by our AFU together with the Territorial Defense. The entire territory of the region is being cleared," he said.

According to the head of the Sumy region, Ukrainian fighters have found and eliminated several enemy units, seized trophy equipment, among which medical "Tiger", "Typhoon", tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, etc.

"So far we cannot say that the territory of the region is 100% liberated from Russian troops, but the main part has withdrawn," Zhivitsky explained.

He also said that the Russians had blown up a bridge over the river Seim and thus cut off the possibility for other Russian units that did not have time to withdraw.

The head of the OVA noted that at the moment the Konotop district remains in danger, the rest of the region has been cleared, but noted that the border status of the region, which has 564 km of border with the invading Russia, does not allow to calm down, the threat remains.

"We have a large accumulation of Russian armored vehicles, multiple rocket launchers, communications vehicles on Russian territory along the Ukrainian border. They are now loading the battered and inoperable equipment on railroad platforms, apparently they will send it for repairs. But they are not completely withdrawing troops from the border along the Sumy region, so the situation is still tense, at any moment we can expect their return, so there is a process of strengthening the region," Zhivitsky informed.
